Privacy policy

PrayFr is operated by Ishimwe Etienne, an individual developer based in Poland. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean Ishimwe Etienne. You can reach us at byiringiroetienne2@gmail.com.

We collect the following categories of data when you use PrayFr:

• Account info — your email address and display name when you create an account.
• Onboarding answers — age range, areas of spiritual focus, and prayer frequency preferences you set during setup.
• Prayer session history — timestamps of when you prayed and which verse was shown.
• Chat history — your messages to the AI scripture assistant and the responses received.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, managed via Apple or Google.
• Anonymous usage analytics — screen views and feature interactions via PostHog. No personal identifiers are linked.

• Credit card or payment details (handled entirely by Apple/Google)
• Contacts or address book
• Location data
• Photos or camera
• Microphone or audio

• To create and maintain your account
• To deliver personalized daily verses and prayers
• To send push notifications you have opted into (daily verse, streak reminders)
• To detect and prevent abuse or fraud
• To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized analytics

We share data with the following processors:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting. Receives all account data.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers the AI scripture chat. Receives your chat messages. Messages are never linked to your identity when sent to Anthropic.
• RevenueCat — subscription management. Receives anonymized purchase events.
• PostHog — usage analytics. Receives anonymized event data only.
• Apple / Google — payments and push notification delivery.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Because we operate from within the EU, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your data.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data.

You can request full deletion of your account and data at any time. See our account deletion page for instructions.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

The PrayFr website does not use cookies. The mobile app does not use browser cookies.

PrayFr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your data may be processed in the United States (via Supabase and Anthropic). Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate protection.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in-app. Continued use of PrayFr after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
